We Will Continue To Frustrate Smugglers Activities At Sea – Comptroller Binga

Following the recently acquired gunboats assigned to the Western Marine Command of the Nigeria Customs Service, the officers and men of the command has increased its efforts in frustrating the activities of smugglers at sea.
The Command seized and destroyed smuggled frozen chicken and turkey worth N32.4m, intercepted  in Bar Beach area of Lagos 


The Area Controller of the Command, Comptroller Boyiliya Binga, while addressing  journalists at the command on Monday, said that the newly acquired boats assigned to his formation has reinvigorated its operations.
Binga ,who  said the seizures were made along Lagos waters added that the newly commissioned boat will enhance its fight against smugglers on water.
“You cannot compare Rolls Royce engine with beetles engine. Our new boat is fitted with Rolls Royce that can go faster and farther.


“We are fully out to fight smugglers and its going to be worse for them. This is a combination of our intelligence and enforcement capacity
“We have shown them that we know their hideouts with smaller seizures made last week. Since they didn’t stop, we had to strike harder and it will get worse for them” he said.
He also added that  the command also sized and kept in its custody a wooden boat used in conveying  the smuggled poultry products.
