The new Executive Secretary/ Chief Executive Officer of Nigerian Shippers’ Council, Mr Akutah Pius Ukeyima has assumed office at the Council’s head office in Apapa, Lagos State.
 Mr Akutah Pius  took over from Hon. Emmanuel Jime who was recently relieved of his appointment by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The new ES/CEO who was received by Management and staff of the NSC assured all of his readiness to work as a team for the realization of the Council’s mandate within the context of the Marine and Blue Economy Ministry objectives.
Ukeyima said Shippers’ Council is integral to the success of the agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, His Excellency Gboyega Oyetola inline with the mandate of the Marine and Blue Economy Ministry.

The new NSC boss further said that over the years, the nation has been mulling the diversification of the economy from oil dependency to other revenue generating sectors; this, he said, is the first time the Federal Government has taken a bold and pragmatic step by creating the Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy.
According to him, with the creation of the new Ministry, the Council’s mandate becomes a lot more robust. He pointed out that there is a lot of work to be done, noting that the Council’s staff are highly
knowledgeable, experienced, and also equal to the task ahead.
He pledged to be a servant leader with the promised that his tenure will reward hard work and commitment.
In his words, “Sometimes we don’t appreciate knowledge, but moving forward, we will reward hard work.”
He thanked the Management and staff of the Council for the warm reception according him and promised better days ahead.
