PTML Customs Command Nets N75.7B In 6Month

The Ports Terminal Multiservices Limited (PTML) Command of Nigeria Customs Service has said it generated  a total of N75,706,005,990 into the Federation government coffers within the period of January through June 2019.

The generated figure was made known by the Area Controller of the command Compt. Florence Dixon, through the office of the command image maker,  Mohammed Yakubu.

This half year collection, according to  Yakubu, is 30.7 percent higher than the N57,902,029,534 collected within same period of 2018 making it to be more than N15b above its half year target which is slightly higher than N60B.

Yakubu attributed the increase in revenue collection to higher volume of trade and uncompromising policy of his Area Controller, Florence Dixon, to prevent revenue loss and facilitate trade.

He added that increased diligence on the part of the command’s officers also boosted its output .

A breakdown of the collection showed monthly increase in 2019 compared what was collected same period last year.

The command recorded 49 percent increase in January 2019 with a collection of N14,850,154,616 as against N9,967,751,491 collected in January 2018.

It recorded a 38 percent increase in February 2019 with N10,024,673,259 as against N7,267,306,206. In March 2019 it collected N11,853,972,028 which is 41 percent higher than the N8,421,060,484.

In April, May and June 2019 ,it collected N13,282,567,334; N12,352,449,543 and N13,342,189,210 with percentage increases of 22,13.7 and 26.8 above N10,858,205,216; N10,866,889,939 and N10,520,816,198 respectively
