OMIS Award Night: Rollens Macfoy Steps Out In Style

The inaugural OMIS award night was held amidst pulp and pageantry over the weekend at the Oriental hotel in Lagos, where the who is who and movers of the maritime sector gathered in celebration of excellence and outstanding performance.

The event which kicked off with red carpet, hosts dignitries from the top notch and high rank individuals and organizations in the maritime and offshore industry.

The award which was categories into two; individuals and organizations has shortlisted persons and organizations for different categories of nominees.

 

Among the nominees is the indefatigable president of Women in Maritime Africa (WIMAfrica), Nigeria chapter, Mrs Rollens Macfoy who got nominated along side others in the category of outstanding women in Maritime award.

The award category recognizes the inspirational leadership and achievements of the sectors leading women who has demonstrated expertise and excellence in their work with proven exceptional leadership qualities and genuine long lasting impact within their field of works.

Mrs Macfoy who made it to the top five out of the thirteen individuals nominated says she returned all glory back to her maker for counting her worthy of the nomination among other top professionals in the sector.

She also appreciate her husband’s who was fully on ground for her at the event, and appreciate the OMIS team for the effort and dedication in making the event a success

 

Meanwhile her company, Ocean deep also got nominated for the OMIS Manning Agent of the Year category which includes ship representatives handing vessel crewing and offshore recruitment with commitment to safety and excellent working practice.

The Ocean Ambassador foundation also got nominated and bagged the OMIS NGO of the year meant for a registered non governmental organization who has made valuable contributions to the larger maritime sector with a key focus on specific areas with evidence and testimonials to back up claims.

Mrs Benita Afolabi , CEO of Kaystone Global Resources LTD was among the shortlisted professionals who has gone beyond the norm with evidence of outstanding achievement, creativity and contribution to organizational success and the maritime sector at large.

She was among the seven (7) shortlisted out of the thirty four (34) individuals nominated for the OMIS Torch Bearers award.

The OMIS is an award set up to recognize d and celebrate excellent in the maritime and offshore industry.
